Grade 3 April Newsletter

Third grade has been working on mastering multiplication tables for several months now. One student has made it past the 10s so far! We’ve enjoyed learning some songs to help practice these facts as well as traditional Mad Minutes and flash cards. It is also really effective to practice them orally in other contexts, like at home!

Mr. Frizzell came back to our class to do another fantastically fun science project this month. Learning about forces and motion using marbles, rulers, paper cups, and books stacked up on top of each other made for some rich discussions about what exactly constitutes “work” in science.

Poem in your Pocket day was celebrated on April 12th. On the hour every hour our class took time to read and share poems, and it was a really fun day that was filled with poetry!
